The library construction project supported by the University of Likasi was launched in the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Likasi City, relevant leaders for both of SICODEX Company and the University of Likasi. Mr. CHRISTIAN KABANDA, Deputy General Director of SICODEX, gave a speech: He pointed out that SICODEX company adheres to the work philosophy of "safety, human orientation and happiness", continues to participate in local social activities, and actively assumes the company's social responsibilities. This time SICODEX donated money to the University of Likasi. The library further embodies the development model of joint consultation, joint construction and common progress between the enterprise and the region. The head of the University of Likasi emphasized that the donation from the SICODEX Company is a model that helps the academic institution improve its infrastructure construction and also helps students further strengthen their research capabilities. He announced that once the library is completed, it will be used under the name “Sino-Congolaise d’exploitation”.
Under the testimony of the Deputy Mayor of Likasi City, the University and the company signed a donation agreement, handed over the project construction funds and completed the groundbreaking ceremony.
